Watch
“Perception”
I began editing up a film short this week.
I’m pretty happy with it. It’s working title is “Perception“ though I am not crazy about that name.
I posted a rough, cringe-worthy edit of it online. You can watch it above since I would like to share it with you all if you’re interested.
Initially, this was just meant to be a short that ran under 5 minutes (like the one above), but once I began working on it, I felt it impressed on me that it needs something more. I’m kind of in uncharted territories here, but I think it will make sense if I do what I feel led to. I feel inspired to add to it and make another (then another one, and probably another after that. Then I want to put them all together to be one slightly longer, but still pretty short film).
I’m used to writing things with chapters. I feel I tell stories in between brackets. Between those two brackets, the story can be straight and clean cut with no division… It can also be messy like a bowl of spaghetti, but like any chapter of real life, it will always have a beginning and an end. That is the way I write, that is the way I direct and that is the way I tell stories, so I expect the shorts to be like that as well.
The whole project won’t all be like this. Some of it will make more sense. I was thinking of unveiling one chapter at a time at random and then in the end piecing them together in their correct order. Sounds fun, right?
Anyway, here I am chattering away when you probably just want to know about the video I’ve already posted.
The video above is based on two scriptures:
“But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughtswill be led astray from a sincere andpure devotion to Christ.” -2 Corinthians 11.3
and
“Catch the foxesfor us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.” -Song of Solomon 2.15
The working title for the longest time was “Colours”. It is now being called “Perception”. I am now leaning towards “Apple and Fox”. Eventually I’ll pick a name.
Oh and if you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know.
Enjoy.
Let the Revival Begin.
